Brother John Glenn passes at age 95

After a week-long hospital stay, John Glenn passed away December 8th  in Columbus at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife and two adult children.

 John Herschel Glenn, Jr. was born in Cambridge, Ohio on July 18, 1921.

 Glenn is an American hero and a proud son of Ohio. He rose to fame by being the first American to orbit the earth, but he continued to serve America and the Buckeye state for the rest of his life.

Vinton Lodge #131 has lost Brother John Payne, a 65-year member of the Lodge.

Brethren, we are saddened by the loss of our Brother John Payne, a 65 year Mason. Brother Payne passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 following a long illness.

John Aaron Payne, 87, Vinton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio following a long illness. He was born February 18, 1928 in Roane County, West Virginia to the late E. C. and Ella Halbert Payne. He was a 65 year member of Vinton Masonic Lodge #131, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Vinton Eastern Star CHapter #375.
